Fashion for Finke Fundraiser

 FASHION FOR FINKE

Saturday 18 February 2012
Witchetty's (next to the Araluen Arts Centre)
6.30pm for a 7.00pm Start

The "Fashion for Finke Fundraiser" is to help raise funds for permanent building facilities at the Finke Desert Race Start/Finish Line.  Each year the event hires portable buildings at a significant cost for official areas such as Race Control, Competitor Relations, Medical Centre and the Media Centre.  The aim of the committee is to save and raise enough money to begin to build permanent buildings instead of having to pay thousands a year in hiring the portable buildings.

Fashion for Finke is an 'out of the box' idea for a fundraiser, which has allowed members of the community to help raise funds in a different kind of way - not necessarily found around motorsport.  The idea behind the night is the sale of a huge selection of new, recycled & vintage dresses which have been donated by ladies in the Alice Springs community.  The dresses will be modelled in a spectacular fashion parade by past Grid Girls and hopeful applicants in the search for the 2012 Memo Club Finke Desert Race Grid Girls.  All dresses will be priced between $20 and $60 and available to buy on the night only.

The night will also feature DJ "Bed on a Shed" with nibbles provided and bar facilities available.  There will also be some Finke memorabilia auctioned off to raise some extra dollars - so fellas, it's not just for the ladies, you need to get your tickets too!

Tickets on sale NOW at the Finke Desert Race Office, Alice Springs Flower Studio, Sylvesters Hair Studio, Desert Wave Surf Shop & Decked Out and Mixed Lollies.  There are only a limited amount of tickets available and the cost is $15 each - get in early to ensure you don't miss out!

It's going to be a great night, with plenty of things to see and buy and it'll all be going towards helping grow Australia's Greatest Desert Race!

For more information, you can call the office on 08 8952 8886 or email admin@finkedesertrace.com.au.
