Finke Kings Nominated for ADB Off Road Rider of the Year Award
2011 and 2010 Tattersall's Finke Desert Race bike winners Ben Grabham and Toby Price, are in the running for the ADB Magazine's Off Road Rider of the Year award.
Ben Grabham and Toby Price celebrate Toby's win at the 2010 Tattersall's Finke Desert Race
The KTM team mates have had a successful year on the bike with the ADB awards giving the following reasons for nominating each of them:
Ben Grabham
"The KTM rider is tough as nails, not only did he finish the treacherous Finke Desert Race with a broken hand, he managed to pull a win out of his hat. With his hand still raw from surgery, like a trooper he continued with the AORC series, putting in solid rides at every event finishing the season second in the E1 class and eighth Overall."
Toby Price
"Coming into the 2011 off-road racing season he had a lot to defend, being the 2010 AORC, A4DE , Finke and Hattah Champion, but it was business as usual for the KTM rider as he took the E2 Class and Outright victory at the A4DE. He raced hard at the Hattah Desert Race, claiming the win in the tough sandy conditions and his efforts at the ISDE secured fourth in the E2 class, making him the highest finishing Australian. Three overall wins at the AORC put him in first in the points race, but a mid-season injury put him out of the AORC title chase, leaving him in ninth Overall."
