Committee member Glen Auricht and Finke competitor Ken Cullenane visited Braitling School recently. They explained to the children the importance of keeping themselves safe at the Tattersall's Finke Desert Race.
The first pre-race event for the 2011 Tattersall's Finke Desert Race took place last weekend with competitors taking up the opportunity to ride in the first official reconnaissance from Bundooma to Finke and return.
2011 will see the biggest year yet for the Tattersall’s Finke Desert Race. Entry records in the bike and quad section have been well and truly exceeded with the increased capacity field of 550 full two days and a half days after entries opened.

The record rainfall in Alice Springs is definitely continuing into 2011 and the committee are continuously on the go repairing and maintaining the race track.

With just under four weeks until the 2011 Tattersall’s Finke Desert Race, Alice Springs is getting colder, but the weekend was sizzling with all 10 Grid Girls in town for the annual photo shoot.
The 2011 Tattersall’s Finke Desert Race will be the biggest yet, with the entry limit in the bike division (including quads and sidecars) increased to 550. A cap of 80 has also been introduced onto the quad entries.
2011 will be a big year for the Grid Girls as it is the ninth year the girls have been adding their touch of glamour to the event since the first year they graced the start/finish line back in 2003.
